- This list is compiled monthly from information sent to The Poetry Library by organisers of competitions.
- Each competition has different regulations. In most cases, poems should be in English and not previously published.
- Where regulations and entry forms are available online, a link is provided, but in other cases, competitors should write to each competition, enclosing a stamped addressed envelope for an entry form before submitting work. For competitions suitable for children and young people, click here

Bedford Open Poetry Competition 2010-2011 | Closing Date: 14-Nov-10

Poetry Business 2010 Book & Pamphlet Competition | Closing Date: 29-Nov-10
Details:This year's judge is Simon Armitage, and the competition is sponsored by NAWE. Entrants with a Sheffield postcode are automatically entered into the Sheffield Poetry Prize category. The best single poem from their collection could win them £100, publication in The North magazine and on the website, and an opportunity to read their winning poem at a Poetry Business reading.

Rossica Translation Prize 2011 | Closing Date: 31-Dec-10
Details:Literary work must be written in Russian by any author, present or past, and published in English in 2009 and 2010. The prize is open to works published in any country. The value of the prize is £5,000 divided between the winning translator and the publisher.
