LONDON SE1: Beckbeat Poetry at Blackfriars
Date: Friday 31 March, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM
Blackfriars Settlement, 1 Rushworth Street, London SE1 0RB
Publicity material for this event says:
Things are hotting up on the corner of Pocock and Rushworth streets! For 1 Friday a month a little collection of literary minds gathers to share their latest verse with a fair crowd of lovers.
If you find yourself in need of some poetic expression; whether to try out your own lyrical metrics, or simply yearn to enjoy the rhapsody of others then you should get your ears down to Blackfriars Settlement on Friday 31 March. Doors open at 6.30 and after 30 minutes of panic, getting your name down, and steadying your jiggedy coffee cup, the mic opens at 7PM. We're wrapped up when the last throat has croaked (and before 9PM).
All new and established writers, poets, spoken word enthusiasts and troubadours are invited to share their favourite works. Sign up on the door before 7pm for your time at the mic. This an open session and the only restriction is that you need to read it out loud!
The Cariad Cafe is open throughout for hot and cold refreshments.
