The Homeless Library | 09-Jul-16 to 18-Sep-16

Experience powerful first-person stories of Britain's homeless through this illuminating book, poetry and art collection.

Homeless people in Greater Manchester have created a first-person history of British homelessness, which is on display in The Poetry Library and is presented as part of Southbank Centre's Festival of Love.

Devised by arts organisation arthur+martha, The Homeless Library offers insight into the lives of people experiencing homelessness through individual testimonies, poetry and art written in handmade books.

Visitors are invited to create their own mini-books, which can be left as a response to the exhibition.

A free 200 page ebook, The Homeless Library, including interviews, poems and artworks has been created as a catalogue for the exhibition and can be downloaded here.

From Saturday 9 July to Sunday 18 September

Open Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 8pm (closed Mondays)
