The publicity material for this new event says:

Have you ever thought about how to bring poetry to life in the classroom through the connection between word and image? If you are looking for new ways to approach the teaching of poetry, then this new event is for you. It will introduce children to a range of poems as brought to life and re-imagined for the screen through animation and real-life film. During an interactive session children will explore the impact of moving images, colour, sound and music on familiar themes, settings, narratives and characters from classic children's verses. Featured poets will include Lewis Caroll, Roald Dahl, Edward Lear and Spike Milligan; while children will also be introduced to the work of less familiar poets and to more experimental poetic texts. The event is accompanied by a teachers' resource pack to support preparation and follow-up activities in the classroom.

Led by Jane McCarthy, Arts Education Practitioner

£6 per student; £1 per accompanying adult; £40 for teachers attending without students.  Please note that schools should provide their own packed lunches.
