Poetry on Carnegie shortlist | 07-May-05

The Carnegie Prize is a prize for children's books. It is judged by librarians, with school groups shadowing the award.

One of the books shortlisted to win the Carnegie Prize is a verse novel by Sharon Creech. Heartbeat tells the story of Annie, who loves running and drawing. Her story is told through poetry. This is Sharon Creech's second novel told through verse. You might also have read Love That Dog.

Sharon Creech won the Carnegie Prize two years ago for her novel Ruby Holler.
