Morris pamphlet: Cocteau Turquoise Turning

Most poets will tell you that they are influenced by other poets, but what they are really influenced by is their own heart, by the hearts of others, and by drink...

An appearance in Carrie Etter's anthology Infinite difference: other poetries by U.K. women poets (Shearsman, 2010), for which she also provided the cover image, may signal Marianne Morris's entry into the mainstream of alternative poetries (if such a thing exists). The Poetry Library has four of her pamphlets for loan (three of those from Bad Press which she co-founded with Jow Lindsay and Jonathan Stevenson in 2002). A poet who wonders if a sledgehammer is preferable to a pen is surely worth exploring.
