Poetry Library Book Club - T. S. Eliot Prize Shortlist | 08-Nov-10

Monday 6 and 13 December
Saison Poetry Library at the Royal Festival Hall, 6.30pm
Admission free but booking essential

Join us in the Poetry Library over two consecutive weeks when we'll be discussing the ten books shortlisted for this year's T. S. Eliot Prize, described as the "world's top poetry award".  We will focus on 5 books each week.

On 6 December the books are:
'Human Chain' by Seamus Heaney
'The Mirabelles' by Annie Freud
'The Wrecking Light' by Robin Robertson
'Rough Music' by Fiona Sampson
'You' by John Haynes

On 13 December:
'White Egrets' by Derek Walcott
'New Light for the Old Dark' by Sam Willetts
'What the Water Gave Me' by Pascale Petit
'Phantom Noise' by Brian Turner
'Seeing Stars' by Simon Armitage

All of the shortlisted books are available for reference or loan at the Poetry Library and a sample of poems from each book are available to download from the Poetry Book Society website:
