Poetry Library Book Club - T. S. Eliot Prize Shortlist | 28-Oct-11

Monday 19 December 2011 and Monday 9 January 2012
Saison Poetry Library at the Royal Festival Hall, 6.30pm
Admission free but booking essential

Join us in the Poetry Library as we discuss the books shortlisted for the 2011 T. S. Eliot Prize, described as 'the world's top poetry award'. We focus on five books in each session.

On Monday 19 December the books we'll be looking at are:

1. John Burnside - Black Cat Bone (Cape)

2. Carol Ann Duffy - The Bees (Picador)

3. Leontia Flynn - Profit and Loss (Cape)

4. David Harsent - Night (Faber)

5. John Kinsella - Armour (Picador)

On Monday 9 January the books we'll be looking at are:

1. Esther Morgan - Grace (Bloodaxe)

2. Daljit Nagra - Tippoo Sultan's Incredible White-Man-Eating Tiger Toy-Machine!!! (Faber)

3. Sean O'Brien - November (Picador)

4. Bernard O'Donoghue - Farmers Cross (Faber)

5. Alice Oswald - Memorial (Faber)


All of the shortlisted books will be available for reference or loan at the Poetry Library and a sample of poems from each book are available to download from the Poetry Book Society website:
