Poetry Library Book Club - Tomas Tranströmer | 30-Jul-12
Monday 10 September 2012, 6:30pm
Join us in the Poetry Library to discuss the work of Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize for Literature.
Long celebrated as a master of the arresting, suggestive image, Seamus Heaney has said of him 'Tomas Tranströmer's poetry permits us to be happily certain of our own uncertainties...'.
During this event we are referring to the English versions of Robin Robertson, published as The Deleted World (Enitharmon, 2006) and described by John Burnside as 'honourable, lyrically rich and deeply sympathetic'.
Please note - this free event requires a ticket. You can reserve your ticket online (£1.75 transaction fee) or by phone on 0844 847 9910 (£2.75 transaction fee). Transaction fees apply per transaction, not per ticket. You can also reserve your seat without a transaction fee by visiting one of our Southbank Centre Ticket Offices in person.
