More poetry prescribed! | 23-May-05

The Poems in the Waiting Room project has gone from strength to strength. In more than 3000 surgeries across the country patients can pick up leaflets with specially chosen poems.

Poems in the Waiting Room was founded by Michael Lee, a former consultant economist, and started in a small number of GPs' surgeries in Richmond, Surrey. Now the scheme is nationwide, and is funded by the Arts Council and the Poetry Society. Read more about the project on the Poetry Society website.
