Exhibition of artworks commemorating the Great War | 28-Feb-14

An exhibition of new artworks commemorating the Great War and the war poetry of 1914-1918.

The students and staff of the BA(Hons) Illustration course at Middlesex University present forty new images responding to stories from the First World War, from the poetry of Robert Graves to tales from the home front and battlefields abroad.

The Poetry Café has previously hosted two very successful shows by staff and students from the course including The Haunts of The Poets and Happy Birthday Edward Lear.

Middlesex illustration students have won many accolades over recent years including the Observer/Cape/Comica Graphic Short Story Prize and D&AD awards and have a reputation for producing innovative and exciting imagery. All the work is for sale to raise funds for the students' degree show. Prices start at £50 for framed prints and original artworks, so you can pick up a poetry inspired work of art at a bargain price and support a young and upcoming illustrator at the same time.

Venue address: The Poetry Cafe, 22 Betterton St WC2H 9BX

Poetry Cafe's Opening times
12 noon - 11pm Monday to Friday
7pm - 11pm Saturday
