Costa Poetry Award shortlist announced | 19-Nov-14

The shortlists for the 2014 Costa Book of the Year have been announced.  The judges of the the Poetry category - Anna Dreda, Independent Bookseller, Founder, Wenlock Poetry Festival; Charlotte Runcie, Poet and Arts Journalist, Daily Telegraph; and Owen Sheers, Poet and Author - selected the following 4 books:

Colette Bryce for The Whole and Rain-domed Universe
Jonathan Edwards for My Family and Other Superheroes
Lavinia Greenlaw for A Double Sorrow: Troilus and Criseyde
Kei Miller for The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion

There is no crossover with the T S Eliot Prize shortlist but both Bryce and Miller were shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection, which Miller went on to win. Jonathan Edwards's book has previously been shortlisted for the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize.
