Poems in the Waiting Room seeks sponsor | 06-Dec-05

Poems in the Waiting Room (PitWR) will be familiar to anyone who has waited nervously to see a doctor in one of the 1400 surgeries that receives their poem cards.

PiTWR distributes 40,000 poetry cards every quarter. Their activities, however, are currently at risk due to lack of funding. In the past, PiTWR has received funding from The Beatrice Trust and from ACE. Arts Council funding is no longer available, and The Beatrice Trust funding is shortly likely to run out, so PitWR will need to cut back severely on the project unless a dependable financial partner is found.

The editor, Michael Lee, says "Any help and guidance, particularly on possible NHS sources, would be greatly welcome."

Anyone interested in supporting the project should contact Michael Lee at
