WALES: Creative Wales Awards 2008-09 | 23-Oct-08

Creative Wales Awards 2008-09

Are you a writer looking for an opportunity to develop your creative practice? This might include the creation of new, experimental and innovative work that takes forward the art form and artistic practice. Creative Wales Awards of up to £20,000 are available to help you if you are resident in Wales. They are awarded to established writers and artists from a variety of different disciplines, including literature. You must have an established track record in your art form.

Creative Wales Awards are intended to give space and time for an artist already with career achievements, to undertake experimentation and research which will inform the artist's future practice but which do not necessarily have defined outcomes. Creative Wales Awards favour open-ended learning and research processes underpinned by individual artistic vision and ideas of what will aid individual artistic development and feed into the development of the arts in Wales. These awards put a premium on artists with innovative new approaches and understandings.

For information and guidelines look at the funding section on the Arts Council of Wales?s website www.artswales.org

For a preliminary discussion about your project idea and eligibility and to register your interest in applying, literature applicants should contact Academi on: 029 2047 2266

Closing date for submissions: Friday 7 November 2008
