Wordsworth Trust poet in residence 2009-2010

The Wordsworth Trust was founded in 1891 to maintain Dove Cottage, in Grasmere, Cumbria, home of William Wordsworth when he wrote much of his greatest poetry. The Trust is keen to maintain the tradition of creativity associated with Dove Cottage, and runs a thriving literature programme, as part of which they are seeking to appoint a new poet in residence, to run from May 2009 to April 2010. The poet will be given space to develop their own work and the opportunity to take part in the Wordsworth Trust Literature Programme and the wider cultural life of Cumbria. The poet in residence will be paid a monthly stipend of £1000 and provided with a cottage for which they will be charged a subsidised rent. Closing date for applications is 23 January.
