Hull tourist trail pays homage to Philip Larkin | 21-Apr-11

Commemoration plaques have been put up around the city of Hull marking the places in the city that were most dear to the life and work of Philip Larkin. A map has also been designed for fans of the poet?s work to follow the trail around the city.

Places include the university library where he worked, the hospital where he died, the poet?s grave and the city?s Marks and Spencer, which Larkin immortalised in his poem ?The Large Cool Store?.

It also visits the City Hall where he went to concerts, and various pubs that he frequented.

The project has been organised by the Larkin Society to mark the 25th anniversary of the poet?s death.
