Down in the dingle where the dew is sweet | 15-Dec-08

Down in the dingle where the dew is sweet,
Down in the dingle where the fairies meet.
All the lilies will spread their bells,
Filling all the pools in the forest dells.

Can anyone help identify this poem/old song?

Comments:

I know this song as my mother used to sing it to me, and her mother to her. It goes:

Come, come away, where the dew lies sweet
Come to the dingle where the fairies meet
Know that the lilies have shed their buds
All o'er pools in the forest dell
Come come away, come come away
Come, come come away!

We were just looking for it on the internet and this website came up.
Lucy Smith

On further research, this appears to be a 19th century song and the words come from a poem by Felicia Dorothea Hemans (1793-1835)
