A garden path where flowers unfold | 14-May-09

A garden path where flowers unfold,
the slim laburnum dripping gold,
to greater things some folk aspire,
but these would be my heart's desire.

Comments:

I know this poem well; my mum used to say it to me when I was a little girl and as I grew older, when I asked her what she would like for birthdays/Christmas! I used to collect autographs and she wrote this verse in the front cover of my book.
I have no idea where it's from and mum wouldn't be able to remember now; she has dementia and is cared for in a Care Home. Sorry I can't help - I was hoping to find out about its origin too.
