Do you know this poem? Do you have any clues to help us find it?

I am looking for the author, but I remember the poem more or less from a child's book. The illustration was of a kettle boiling on a peak; but my Dad explained it boiled more easily because of the lower air pressure.

My child, if you should chance to go
And make your hme in Mexico
The proper plce for you to settle
Is on Mount Popacatpelt.

Its slopes are green, its crest is white
It's 40,000 feet in height
The air will keep you in good fettle
Upon Mount Popacatapetl

[And if one day you have a mind
To take a picnic??] you will find
No easier place to boil a kettle
Than on Mount Popacatapetl.
