Coming in from the garden... | 06-Sep-10

"The poem from which this (final) line(s) come from was published in the Daily Telegraph, I am sure, about 20 years ago. Two very distinctive features were that the lines were very short (thus the typographical layout of 25 lines or so was a tall, narrow column), and that there was no punctuation, so that it was one long almost breathless 'sentence' in a fashion. The poem is about the discovery that a partner has left home.

It ends:

Coming in from the garden
Coming in and finding you gone"
