I remember the day when he was crucified,
The cross stoodbold on the hillside ,
The nails stood out And on that cross, there he was

This poem is nowhere to be found "except in my sisters head" Here it is, all yours.

He Was Crucified

I remember the day he was crucified
The cross stood bold on the hillside.
The nails stood out, and on the cross there He was.
The crowd gathered around as I watched Him.
HE WAS IN PAIN!
His eyes were red and blood shot, His body was limp.
The high pitched screams were like tormented demons they deafend our ears.
They stunned us as He suffers.
The people scourged Him; they cursed Him they spat on Him; they teased Him.
The even filled His mouth with vinegar.
WHAT A SET!
I watched death fall upon Him.
The shadow came closer, and then
AS IF HIS SOUL WAS TORN FROM HIM.
HE SCREAMED!
The spasm of pain tormented His soul.
HE SCREAMED AGAIN!
And then............ He was silent.
I still remember Him, but what can I do?
When He is now dead after He was crucified

Thanks so much Carmel. My sis learnt this poem in grade 3. She is 43 now, so her memory is not too bad. But I am glad we have the correct version now.Be blessed.

The poem was by E. Dale Abel my brother. He wrote it when he was 12 years old as an entry into the Jamaica National Festival literary competition. For it he won a silver medal. There are a few corrections. Please note that although there are many parallels, this poem was not written about the crucifixion of Jesus. Therefore the "HE" should not be capitalized.
