Poem about burning books to keep warm | 20-Jan-12

Our enquirer once read a poem about a group of people living in a manor or on an estate during World War II. Because they are cold they are burning books to keep warm. They keep the Bible to be burned last. The poem dates from the 1940s or early 1950s and I found it in an anthology.
