Could this be a variant of the W.B. Yeats "When you are old and grey and full of sleep" which is based on the Ronsard sonnet to Helene "Quand vous serez bien vielle?

Anna, thanks for that... but sadly my Mum (who I am trying to trace this poem for) says that is not it, she remembers it from the 1950s
