January white with snow | 28-Nov-12

Can anyone help us fill in the gaps in this calendar poem:

January white with snow
February green shoots grow
March the wind roars over the hills
April gay with daffodils
May......
...August we get nice and brown
September leaves turn golden brown
October...
November brings the fog and rain
December Christmas Day again

Comments:

This seems to be a garbled version of "Months" by Sara Coleridge ("January brings the snow / Makes our feet and fingers glow ...")
John Davies

We have already suggested the Sara Coleridge poem but it's not the one they are looking for.

May white blossoms everywhere
June the roses scent the air
July the blazing sun shines down

Can't remember October unfortunately!

Only just seen this; have been trying to remember the September/October couplet for decades! Strange that seems to be the difficult bit to remember. I'm afraid the September line as given, with a repeat of the word "brown" at the end, doesn't ring true to me. And my memory of July is "July the sun comes blazing down", but it's obviously the same rhyme. It was in a children's book, with line drawings for each month.

May white blossoms everywhere
June the roses scent the air
July the blazing sun shines down
August we get nice and brown
Septenber fruits glow gold and red
October leaves whirls round our head
