The National Poetry Library has two programmes which are aimed at Key Stage 2 primary school children.
A class of up to 30 breaks into two groups with each group spending an hour doing Poetry Explorers in the library and a second hour doing the Poetry Word Search, an activity in which children find words across the Southbank Centre site to create their own poems.
In this session children explore visual poetry, spoken poetry, poems about animals and learn how to use an index in a book and find items in a library. They will also explore this iconic site by the River Thames to find words and write creatively.
When: Tuesday and Wednesdays during term time.
Cost: free for Lambeth and Southwark state primary schools
There is a charge for fee-paying schools and state schools outside of Lambeth and Southwark. Please contact us for current prices.
